Prior to creating barb burg, ink in May 2009, Barb Burg
was a book publishing executive for over two decades. She was most recently Senior Vice President and Executive Director of
Publicity and Public Relations for the Bantam Dell Publishing Group, a
division of Random House, Inc. In that position she oversaw the publicity department and
public relations for the company for more than a dozen years.
At Random House, Burg worked on publicity campaigns for hundreds of hardcover, trade paperback and mass market New York Times bestsellers. Among the most recent were campaigns for the high profile and number one bestselling THE SNOWBALL: WARREN BUFFETT AND THE BUSINESS OF LIFE by Alice Schroeder and the phenomenal number one bestseller and first novel, THE GUERNSEY LITERARY AND POTATO PEEL PIE SOCIETY by Mary Ann Schaeffer and Annie Barrows.
During her career, Burg has worked with fiction authors ranging from Dean Koontz, Sophie Kinsella, Lee Child, Karin Slaughter and Danielle Steel, to literary legends Louis L'Amour, Tom Robbins and Rita Mae Brown. She has spearheaded campaigns for nonfiction authors ranging from Stephen Hawking to Sting, and for such landmark titles as EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE by Daniel Goleman, WOMEN'S BODIES, WOMEN'S WISDOM and THE WISDOM OF MENOPAUSE by Dr. Christiane Northrup, FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS by James Bradley, LOVE, GREG AND LAUREN by Greg Manning and FIVE MEN WHO BROKE MY HEART by Sue Shapiro.
While at Random House, in addition to her title work, Burg was spokeswoman for the Bantam Dell Publishing Group, helping to craft and implement the media strategy for the company and its many diverse imprints. She also worked closely with the senior management team and editors, preparing them for print, broadcast and online media opportunities.
